Founded by Cat Connacher, Blaven Interiors is a creative interior design studio that has been built upon a passion for art and a belief that home should make you feel an innate sense of belonging. Of course it needs to function well, but more importantly it’s a reflection of who you are, where you’ve been, and where you’re going.
With a background and training as a fine artist and a previous career in occupational therapy, Cat brings a rare combination of emotional insight and aesthetic intuition to every project. The process starts with meaningful conversations about what you love, what you’ve collected, what you dream of. A painting, a poem, a vintage textile… these become the spark.
At Blaven, we design layered, collected interiors that don’t follow trends — spaces with soul. We always incorporate interesting artworks, expressive colour palettes and furniture items imbued with history and excellent craftsmansip. Nothing too polite. Nothing too perfect. But always personal.

what we do
We help clients with spatial planning, collaborating with architects and builders, picking paint colours, designing bespoke joinery, designing kitchens and bathrooms, sourcing antiques and artwork down to selecting plants and towels. We take on projects from single room redecorations to full renovations and builds including project coordination.
We often work with local makers and suppliers to design bespoke pieces or source specialist pieces. No two projects are the same, so a tailored and individual approach is taken dependent on our client’s needs for their home.

We always begin with an informal phone call followed by a full consultation. This allows us to have an in depth discussion about the scope of your project and what your expectations are. I can provide you with information on how I can help and what you can expect.
Some clients only need a single or multiple consultations to gain the confidence to move forward with their project. Otherwise if we are a good fit and you would like to proceed with a full design we will follow up the consultation with a full proposal which will detail everything you should expect from this point forward including fees.
